All About Pods

What is a Pod?

Your Pod is a sacred container you create with other Tribe members. The members of your Pod are your journeymates - the souls with whom you choose to do deeper work and collaboration. Pods are the bedrock of the Tribe, where great evolution and incredible magic occurs. Podmates often come to feel very closely connected - like “spiritual family”.

Can I Join the Tribe without joining a Pod?

This is certainly possible. Please see the related article "All About Pods - The Wildlings"

How many people are in a Pod?

Ideally, each Pod consists of twelve people: two Pod Parents and ten members. Pod Parents may also select a Bursar from the pool of bursary applicants, as a thirteenth member.

While it is ideal to have twelve members in a Pod at any given time, we do understand that numbers will naturally fluctuate. Pod Parents should aim for a complete Pod of twelve. If a Pod is struggling to retain members, or indeed begins to grow far beyond its dozen, Pod Parents should seek the guidance of a Tribe Elder.

Why twelve?

The concept of a twelve-member Pod was initially inspired by the Tribe of Light stories about the ancient civilization of Lyra, as told by Arn Allingham. However, the number twelve has long been a sacred spiritual number and is referred to in the Bible, the zodiac, the tarot, sacred geometry, and many other spiritual texts and stories.

The number twelve represents divine order, wholeness, stability, integrity, the completion of cycles, and the harmony of nature.

What is the purpose of a Pod?

Your Pod is your “spiritual family” within the ONEtribe – they are meant to be your closest confidants and collaborators. The Pod is the place where you REALLY practice Unity Consciousness in a grounded way, not just as a concept! You do this through forming and navigating relationships.

It can be very easy to embody Oneness all by yourself. The greater challenge is to be in Oneness with others; to see divinity within them too. This is a challenge that yields incredible gifts.

And so, the Pod is the place where you nurture deep intimacy with the other. In vulnerability and authenticity, you see them and they see you. You heal together and work through your triggers, wounds and shadows together. You celebrate the Divine light within one another. You are SEEN and you are LOVED into your greatness.

Another purpose of the Pod is to bring together brilliant souls with the same interests. These are the people who are passionate about the same topics that you are. Together, you can deepen your understanding of those subjects, practice together and create together.

Local Pods

One of the most important functions of the Pod is to create community and belonging. For this reason Local Pods are strongly encouraged. A Local Pod (or even half-pod) may be created by Tribe members who live in near enough proximity to one another to have their weekly Pod meetings in-person. This is the benefit of creating a Local Pod:

  • Local Pods help to raise the frequency of the places in which they live.

  • Local Pods may support the Tribe in creating a Tribe gathering or event in their vicinity.

  • Local Pods may welcome traveling visitors from other pods, perhaps providing companionship, support or hospitality.

  • Relating face-to-face with others creates even more meaningful and deeply felt experiences than online connection. Many people prefer in-person connection.

  • Support and community in times of personal or collective challenge, stress and upheaval are much more effective within a Local Pod.

How are Pod Parents chosen?

1. Tribe leadership will announce the number of Pod Parents needed.

2. Prospective Pod Parents present themselves to Tribe Initiates.

3. Prospective Parents express:

      a. Who they are and why they want to be a Pod Parent

      b. Which role they’d like to play

      c. Why they’d be great at this role

      d. What the style or theme of their Pod would be (Starseed, Conspiracy Connoisseur, Body path, Mind path, Heart path, Local pod, other…)

4. Yang Pod Parents will choose a Yin Parent with whom they resonate, to pair with.

5. Yin Parents will review and accept a proposal to form a Pod.

6. Tribe Initiates select the Pod Parent pair that they resonate with. 1st, 2nd, 3rd choice.

7. Pod Parents and Tribe Elders confer to allocate Pod Members to each Pod, striving for the best fit and best balance while being mindful of each Initiates choices.

How do I choose a Pod?

By choosing a pair of Pod Parents with whom you find resonance. See previous question about how Pod Parents are chosen.

Can I be part of more than one Pod?

No. In order to maintain the integrity and focus of the Pod, you can only participate in one Pod at a time. However, after your initiatory year, you may choose to join a different Pod or simply visit another Pod for a time.

What’s the benefit of visiting another Pod?

Every Pod has a unique life of its own! Choosing to visit another Pod means sharing in a new experience with a completely new set of people.

Visiting a new Pod gives you the opportunity to expand your network, make new friends and meet collaborators. You get the chance to see how other Pods do things and bring that inspiration back to your original Pod.

You may choose to get involved with another Pod’s project or visit an in-person Pod while you are traveling. You may also choose to visit with a Pod because they are passionate about a subject you want to explore.

After your initiatory year, the whole of the ONEtribe community is yours to explore.

How does visiting another Pod work?

If you’ve decided to explore another Pod:

  • Discuss with your Pod Parents and fellow Pod members your desires and intentions.

  • Decide how long you want to visit for.

  • Express what you’re interested in doing on the ONEtribe community forum.

  • Choose a Pod you’d like to visit.

  • Have a discussion with the new Pod’s parents and, if applicable, a member who wants to do a swap with you.

You may choose to do a temporary swap with another Pod member. You enter their Pod and they enter yours for a period of time, before returning to your original pods.

Depending on your intention, you might find you wish to continue migrating from Pod to Pod. While exploration is recommended and encouraged, we also suggest that you do it mindfully and respectfully.

We suggest spending at least 3 months in each Pod you enter, to minimize disruption. The duration of the stay should be discussed and agreed upon with the Pod Parents of that Pod.

Additionally, you may choose to leave your original Pod entirely and permanently join a new Pod. That choice is up to you.

Can I join a different Pod if I am not resonating with my current Pod?

It is strongly advised, especially for the first year, that you remain steadfast in your commitment to your Pod. If you are having conflict, use it as an opportunity for growth and expansion. If you are struggling with a conflict, seek the guidance of your Pod parents or a Tribe Elder.

If you’ve really exhausted all your options and STILL cannot find resolution, then you may discuss migrating to a different Pod with your Pod Parents and a Tribe Elder. In that case, you may enter a different Pod or swap positions with someone else.

The Roles of Pod Members

As a Pod member you are choosing to actively co-create your reality with a group of like-hearted others. Together, you discover your gifts and your wounds. You work together to heal and to raise your frequency. You shine your light and see it reflected back through the others!

  • Leading with wisdom, compassion and impartiality

  • Attending and organizing Pod meetings

  • Moderating the Pod Chat

  • Being present to, and aware of, the individual journeys and specific needs of each pod member

Pod Yin

The Pod Yin, holds the Divine feminine. The Pod Yin nurtures the Pod members’ growth and fosters intimacy. They provide emotional support, inspiration, and creative leadership. They balance order with compassion.

Pod Yang

The Pod Yang, holds the Divine Masculine. The Pod Yang creates the boundaries and structure which support the growth of individual Pod members and the continued functionality of the Pod. They implement agreements, inspire accountability and courage. They align vision with focus.

*Pod Yin and Yang can be held by any gender.

Pod Bursar

The Pod Bursar is the recipient of a ONEtribe scholarship. In exchange for a free first year membership, they give the gift of their time and energy to support the flow and functionality of the Pod, usually through administrative tasks. The responsibilities of the bursar are determined by the needs of each Pod. The Pod parents will discuss with a bursar how they may support their Pod.
